Earaches
Earaches are a common ailment, particularly with children. They often
occur alongside coughs, colds, and chest infections. They can even be
brought on by strong wind. To treat earaches, combine lavender with
chamomile. Place a few drops of the mixture onto a warm compress and
apply to the affected area.
Headache
Headaches are a common occurrence. This can be brought on by hunger,
tension, eyestrain, stress, allergies, and exposure to irritants.
Headaches can be subsided by combining lavender, chamomile, and
peppermint with a carrier oil and massaging the area around the neck,
shoulder, and temples. These oils can also be added to a handkerchief
and inhaled, in a cold compress, or to a bath. A person suffering from
migraine headaches, however, should not use a massage treatment.
Indigestion
Feelings of indigestion, also called dyspepsia, can include vomiting,
gas, nausea, bloating, a burning sensation in the stomach and chest
after meals, or abdominal pain. Peppermint combined with a carrier oil,
then massaged on the stomach and the solar plexus area can help
alleviate feelings of indigestion.
